We are writing this post to share with you what has been happening on our side lately. Today’s topics are:

Why Did We Close the StoryWriter Section?
StoryWriter had a lifespan of less than two months. Cracks were already starting to show. There are three main reasons why we removed this section:
-
In the first few weeks after launching our site, we managed to write only one or two chapters. Later on, we realized we wouldn’t be able to continue writing and decided to close this section.
-
We have recently given the green light to our upcoming project, "Bee Console." We will be dedicating our energy and time to this project. We explain the project in the subsection below.
-
Our project lead, agg1401, is not limited to working on Bee Console; he is also embarking on a journey to learn Indonesian. If he progresses along this adventurous path, his ultimate goal is to integrate the language into Indonesian!
Why Did We Launch Our Wiki on Fandom?
Actually, we could have launched it on our own website. Initially, we applied to wiki.gg, but since they treated our project as a "personal project," we decided to handle the process internally. However, we realized that managing a Wiki system is more difficult than managing our main site. These difficulties include:
- MediaWiki Installation Issue = Our site currently runs on one of the PHP 8.2 versions, and there is a high probability that MediaWiki does not fully support this version. This situation is a significant disadvantage for us.
- Theme Integration Issue = Our current theme would need to be transferred there. Although this is not a major problem, it is still an issue that needs to be resolved.
- Backup Infrastructure Issue = Our current site does not have an SQL database; we write and present all data in Markdown format. Switching to MediaWiki would make backup processes considerably more difficult.
Of course, we are aware that Fandom is full of ads, but despite this downside, it is important to note that it is one of the largest platforms in the market. Moreover, its predictability is high, and it has a lower risk of crashing compared to other sites.
Wiki.GG is also good; we are not criticizing it. However, when we looked at other competitors, we saw that most of them are stuck on older versions of MediaWiki. Due to occasional site crashes on some of these platforms, we preferred not to lean towards them. Additionally, the Wiki on Fandom will be completely permanent.

What Is Bee Console?
Bee Console, or BEC for short, is a fantasy game console similar to TIC-80. The biggest advantage of this system is its language, BECL (Bee Console Language). We are building this language so that even someone with no coding experience can easily create games just by examining examples.
Example;
baslat oda menu
yaz "Merhaba Dünya", x: 16, y: 69
bitir oda menu
This prestigious project is being written using the power of the Ebitengine library, which is based on the Go programming language. The system will feature a resolution of 256x240, 256 KB of RAM capacity, and support for a 32-color palette. If you want to learn more, you can read agg1401's blog.
A brief note: those articles do not go through any editor's control.
Closing Remarks
That’s all from us for now.
Best regards,
HEXABEE NETWORK.
